Three men who were arrested in connection with the shooting of a juvenile male in the leg at a park Sunday night are expected to be arraigned in court today, according to a Santa Clara County District Attorney’s spokeswoman.
John Aguilar, 22, of San Jose, Chrisergs Endonela, 18, of San Jose, and Jonryan Somera, 18, of Milpitas, were arrested Sunday night along with a 17-year-old male from Milpitas, after they led officers on a vehicle and foot pursuit, according to police.
Officers received a report of a shooting around 8:15 p.m. at Happy Hollow Park at 1300 Senter Road.
Arriving officers found a male juvenile suffering from a single gunshot wound to his leg, police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.
He was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
According to Lopez, officers noticed a vehicle leaving the park at high speed and initiated a stop.
The vehicle refused to stop, however, and led police on a pursuit. During the pursuit a subject inside the vehicle threw out a firearm, Lopez said.
The vehicle crashed soon after, Lopez said, and the suspects then led officers on a foot pursuit.
Police finally caught up with four suspects and took all four into custody. Officers used a Taser on a suspect who resisted arrest, Lopez said.
Officers were able to recover the firearm that was thrown out of the vehicle window, Lopez said.
Police are investigating the motive behind the shooting.
