A San Jose teen is facing several felony charges, including attempted murder, for allegedly stabbing a 40-year-old woman multiple times during a robbery last month, according to San Jose police.

Prosecutors have filed six counts against 19-year-old Sergio Yepez Guerrero, including robbery, attempted murder, first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, sexual battery, and use of force or threat of force, according to the Santa Clara County district attorney’s office.

Guerrero is expected to plead to the charges on April 28.

Officers arrested him on a warrant inside a retail business on April 7 in connection with a crime that occurred on the morning of March 8 in the 3900 block of Seven Trees Boulevard, according to police.

Detectives believe Guerrero repeatedly stabbed the victim, a 40-year-old San Jose resident, and then robbed her before fleeing.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for multiple stab wounds.

Guerrero was booked into Santa Clara County Jail, where he remains without bail, on charges of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and attempted murder.
