Two lanes of state Highway 1 in unincorporated San Mateo County was closed tonight following a multi-vehicle collision, a California Highway Patrol Officer reported.
The crash was reported around 6:40 p.m. on the highway at Devil’s Slide.
CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said two vehicles, possibly sport utility vehicles, collided, resulting in at least one person suffering major injuries.
Both the southbound and northbound lanes were closed and traffic was backed up southbound to Pacifica, Caggiano said.
A Sig-alert was issued at about 6:58 p.m.
